Manicure In Irvine

Your 5-Star Russian Manicure In Newport Beach

If your gel gel manicure starts to chip after a week, the chipping isn’t from the gel – it’s from poor preparation.

Russian manicure is an intricate, technical process for designing and preparing the nail to receive gel. Unlike standard manicures, which sponge off cuticle thickness where traditional manicures cut corners, Russian manicure focuses on the cuticle themselves, using an electric e-file (e-file) to meticulously clean every inch of the nail plate instead of soaking and using metallic pushers.

What results is a canvas that gel can bond to efficiently, spread evenly, with lifting, chipping or peeling that can’t be seen for weeks (3-4)!!

At Nata Nails, we don’t do Russian manicure – we are Russian manicure!

Russian Manicure Process

Russian manicure – also known as dry manicure or e-file manicure – follows a specific sequence that emphasizes nail health and longevity of use.

Step 1 – Nailing It? Your nails are shaped to your liking: almond, square, oval, coffin, natural? We find the best shape for your nail bed.

Step 2 – Cuticle Care with An E-File This is where things get different. An e-file with a fine-tip and diamond/carbide bits meticulously cleans the cuticle area and removes all the dead skin (pterygium) from the nail plate without cutting or soaking – leaving you with an immaculate surface without damaging any livings tissue.

Step 3 – Nail Plate Prep The nail plate is buffed lightly and dehydrated. Since no water is involved, the nail plate stays completely dry and gel polish adheres neatly to a dry surface instead of lingering on residual moisture.

Step 4 – Gel Polish Application Gel is applied close to the cuticle (much closer than a “normal” manicure). The preparation makes for a perfect surface to paint on! Base coat, color and top coat are all cured under an LED lamp.

Step 5 – Oil You Lucky Nails! Cuticle oil is applied to the hands to finish and hydrate the skin around the nails. Hands emerge polished, healthy and ready to go for 3-4 weeks!

Why Russian Manicure Lasts Longer

It’s not about the brand of polish you use.

It’s about how your nails are prepared before you even pick up a brush.

Most gel applications involve soaking your fingers in water before gel application. Sounds harmless, right?

The problem is that your nail plate absorbs that water like a sponge. And it expands – just a tiny bit.

Then when you dry and cure the gel, your nail plate dries back to its “normal” size. But the polish is still sitting there – and it’s dried to a size that’s EVER SO SLIGHTLY LARGER THAN THE NAIL UNDERNEATH IT.

That creates microscopic lift between your nail plate and the gel. And that’s when all the fun starts – peeling, lifting, chipping. Sometimes within days.

With Russian manicure? No water involved. Nails are prepped dry, dehydrated and thoroughly cleaned down to the plate in ways that no traditional tool can match.

Gel adheres to a perfectly prepped surface – and stays there.

No surprise, then, that clients who switch from traditional gel application to Russian manicure easily achieve 3-4 weeks without peel or chip – and that’s no marketing claim!

Who is Russian Manicure For?

You’ve been let down by the chipping of your gel manicure. If your manicures last less than two weeks, then there is an issue with prep – and that’s the Russian technique.

You care about your nails to be beautiful, not harmful. The e-file only removes dead tissue, never touches the living cuticle and gently does lift over time.

You want a clean, classic look. The Russian Technique gives you the best cuticle line in the industry – gel sits flat against your skin for a dusting like finish and longevity.

You’ve had allergic reactions or an infection from a traditional salon previously. No watersinks here, no shared tools, no shortcuts. Every tool at Nata Nails is separately sterilized for each client.

You’re looking for a change from acrylics so you want to play nice with your natural nails. Russian technique with builder gel or hard gel provides strength without causing lasting damage like acrylics do over time.
